Cassie Leedham is a talented author, photographer and graphic designer who works from the Leamington Spa area in Warwickshire. A beautiful place where I was lucky enough to spend time doing a few portraits shoots.
The purpose of this visit was to get portrait photos of Cassie for an upcoming book launch. Photos which she could also use across her social media profiles because we can all do with more of those. I also wanted to get an image or two for my ongoing Creative Spaces Project. This is a project where I capture artists, authors and artisans in their favourite spaces for inspiration. These images are more often wider-angled images to show the location than the standard tighter portraits.
We met at the wonderfully named Fat Birds Café in Leamington and chatted about her love of photography, writing and her son. While we sat drinking coffee, I grabbed a few images of Cassie in her favourite creative space.
After getting a few images in the first coffee shop, we decide to change it up a little. We moved up the main road to another café called Coffee Architects which had a quaint outdoor area. Here we focussed more on personal portraits, and I’m really happy with how they came out.
Onto the next one
After another coffee (you can never have too much), we ended up at a third coffee shop to try and get a few more photos of her in a minimalist environment. Cassie does most of her writing in coffee shops, so I wanted to shoot in a few of these locations.
A big thank you to Cassie for allowing me to shoot portraits for the project. I had a great time, and it was wonderful to hear about her creative journey so far. I have a feeling it’s only the beginning.

I am always looking for more creative talent to photograph in their creative spaces. So please bear me in mind if you know of anyone looking for some portraits. Feel free to email me here.
